For decades, the farm practiced small-scale farming and livestock breeding. At its peak, the farm housed 4–6 cows, a horse, and chickens. The surrounding fields produced oats, rye, barley, and hay for the livestock. Livestock farming on the farm ceased in 1973.
Ollila Farmhouse has also played a role as a local marketplace. In the early 1930s, Mattisenlahti Cooperative Store opened on the property, selling groceries, tools, and fuel to the local community until the late 1950s.
The farmhouse was a residence until 2005 and served as a summer home for the following decade. It was later renovated for rural tourism, and since 2017, Ollila Farmhouse has hosted meetings, workshops, wellness days, year-round accommodations, and guided fishing trips in both winter and summer.
